Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon (750ml)

The youngest addition to the Kadette range is simply delicious and offers extraordinary value. A well-rounded wine showing great accessibility with a juicy fruit core and fresh acidity.

Vinification: Fermentation takes place in open-top concrete fermenters at 28C. The floating skins are punched down mechanically, every 2 hours during fermentation. The juice is drawn off the skins after 5 - 6 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured for 12 months in older 225L French oak barrels.

Appearance: Deep ruby red.

Nose: Aromas of blackberry, cassis, and blueberry combine with tobacco, cedar, and oak spice to create a complex bouquet.

Taste: The concentrated black fruit is supported by oak spice, roasted nuts, and a trace of fragrant fynbos. The tannins are robust, yet well-integrated and interwoven.

Finish: Lengthy and dry finish.

Food pairings: Goes well with mostly all types of steaks: Slow-cooked venison, Braised beef short ribs, Rosemary lamb shanks, Matured cheddar, and Beef stew.
