Appearance: Deep ruby red colour with slightly orange reflections on the rim. Its colour reflects its age and evolution.

Nose: The wine offers a complex and captivating nose. Intense aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and raspberry are accompanied by delicate notes of liquorice, truffle, and tobacco. Subtle nuances of precious wood and dried flowers blend harmoniously.

Taste: A velvety and silky texture. The fruity flavours are rich and concentrated, with a dominant presence of black cherry, blackberry, and plum. Spicy notes of black pepper and liquorice bring complexity, while hints of leather and undergrowth add an earthy dimension. The tannins are well-integrated, and the structure is elegant, with refreshing acidity.

Finish: Long and persistent.

About the producer: Located in Piedmont in northwestern Italy, the Gaja winery is widely considered to be one of the greatest estates in the world, producing coveted and collectable labels. The name originates from Alteni, small stone walls that once surrounded the plots of land, and the word Brassica, yellow flowers growing in the vineyards in spring.
