Inniskillin Gold Oak-Aged Icewine Vidal (375ml)

Rich and unctuous, this also has classic aromatics and a certain level of freshness that keeps it from being particularly cloying. The acidity lifts the fruit and allows it to shine through. It's never going to be a nervy wine, but it is not flabby either. If you like stickies, this won't disappoint. It should age very well, acquiring a bit more character along the way. Many will like it the way it is, but it can acquire another dimension in time.

Appearance: Deep gold.

Nose: Aromas of peach, apricot, spice, and a touch of toasty vanilla are evident on the nose

Taste: Intense fruit flavours of mango, apricot, and orange balance the crisp acidity of this complex oak-aged Icewine.

Finish: A little bit of spicy apricots on the mouthwatering finish. 

Food pairings: Always delicious with the traditional crème brule or crème caramel; try tropical fruit compote, roasted peaches or pineapple with panna cotta; cheeses from fresh chevre to parmesan with a dribble of honey; brown butter lobster salad with baby arugula and hazelnuts.

About the producer: Canada’s first estate winery, Inniskillin, is internationally renowned for its award-winning wines and for its pioneering role in establishing the Canadian wine industry. On July 31, 1975, its founders made history when they were given the first winery license in Canada since Prohibition.
