Plaimont Jean Des Vignes Rouge (750ml)

An elegant, appetising red, made from a mixture of local Gascon grape varieties and a pleasing helping of Merlot. Burdened by being in Gascony rather that a famous region the Plaimont cooperative nevertheless manages to stand above all others of its kind for attention to quality.

About the Producer:
Producer Plaimont (established 1979) is a forward-thinking co-op, actually a grouping of five co-ops, based in the town of St-Mont about 50 km north of Pau in SW France. This ultra-reliable winery, which has an admirable focus on polishing the finer characters of the region's local grapes, consistently produces wines of character and charm across a huge range of styles and prices.
