Lagavulin 16YO Whisky (700ml)

The Islay representative in the Classic Malts series is a deep, dry and exceptionally peaty bruiser. Probably the most pungent of all Islay malts, Lagavulin is not for the faint-hearted but inspires fanatical devotion in its many followers.

Appearance: Deep amber gold.

Nose: Intensely flavoured, peat smoke with iodine and seaweed and a rich, deep sweetness.

Taste: Dry peat smoke fills the palate with a gentle but strong sweetness, followed by sea and salt with touches of wood.

Finish: A long, elegant peat-filled finish with lots of salt and seaweed.

Food pairings: Goes exceptionally well with BBQ Ribs, Wash Rind Cheese and Anchovies
