This has a lovely, delineated bouquet of cranberry and wild strawberry fruit, the mineralité coming through nicely with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine depth. A little oaky toward the finish, although that will be subsumed with time. Slightly confit in style, perhaps, and full of vivacity. Made from vines averaging 40 years, with the oldest at 70+ years, this beautiful premier cru Beaune Les Epenottes is one the favorite wines from this high quality domaine. Located in Pommard, in the heart of Côte d'Or, the domaine is run by Anne Parent and Catherine Fages-Parent, representing the 12th generation, and perpetuating a family tradition dating back to the 17th century.
